Kawhi Leonard has asked for a point guard

Stephen A. Smith reports that Kawhi Leonard has asked the Clippers front office to get them a good point-guard

The Los Angeles Clippers had a disappointing end to their previous season. Even though they started as the favorites to win the title, they could not capitalize on their wonderful roster. After their unexpected exit from the playoffs, the Clippers made their head coach Doc Rivers the fall guy and parted ways with him.

The Clippers recently signed Tyronn Lue as their new head coach, on a five-year contract. They still have their superstars and key bench players on the roster for next season. They would certainly look to err the ways of the past and pose a serious threat to their LA rivals and the whole league as championship contenders.

While the Clippers roster looks complete on paper, they do lack a dominating point guard, who can create plays for everyone, or can score by himself.

Kawhi Leonard asks for a point guard, reports Stephen A. Smith

Last season wasn’t the best for Clippers, but when they did they showed glimpses of greatness. Kawhi Leonard could not manage to distinguish himself as the team’s leader last season, causing issues in the longer run. This year things seem different though. Kawhi has stepped up and asked the management for what he wants from the team.

Hopefully, this isn’t a one-time thing and Kawhi keeps taking initiative. The Clippers have around $16 mil cap space right now and would look to possibly trade and get a good point guard to complement their stars.

The Clippers would also look to make sure their team chemistry is better this time around. This might mean the infamous ‘load management’ might be put to bed.
