'LeBron James was afraid of losing': Richard Jefferson hilariously calls out Lakers star for not taking part in the dunk contest

Richard Jefferson joked on yesterday’s edition of ‘The Jump’ that LeBron James never entered the dunk contest because of fear.

LeBron James has been a must-watch ever since he joined the league. For 18 years, LeBron has given the league action-packed games to watch. The 36-year-old veteran has left millions around the world in awe of his terrific gameplay.

King James has virtually won all the accolades he possibly can in the league. Although, there’s one event James has not won in his eighteen-year career because he never participated in it.

The drama-filled Dunk Contest is the dunking competition in the All-Star Weekend which LBJ has never even participated. James’ former teammate and current TV analyst Richard Jefferson hysterically called out LeBron.

Jefferson simply stated that those who have the ability to dunk but choose not to participate in the event, are afraid and don’t have what it takes. He continued to say that King James was ‘100% afraid’. He went on to add:

“Bron was a 100% afraid. He was a 100% afraid. Bron didn’t want that. He didn’t have that sexiness. LeBron didn’t have all that. He is a game dunker.”

LeBron James doesn’t care about the dunk contest

Although Richard Jefferson was only joking here, it is still unknown why the 4-time Champ actually never took part in the event. Maybe the pressure is too much for him to handle? Or even maybe he doesn’t have the confidence.

Being his 18th year in the league, LeBron James has won 4 NBA championship, 4 MVPs, 4 Finals MVPs, 16 All-NBA teams, 17 All-Stars and the list seems to never end. The 6-foot-9 forward doesn’t need to prove his legacy to anyone by winning a petty dunk contest. LeBron has much more ambitions than just winning the competition.

Even though it would have been a spectacular treat if LeBron did take part in the event, no one can take away his credits for not participating in the event. He has been putting up incredible MVP numbers in his 18th season averaging 25.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 8 assists per game. The King has very rightly earned himself to be in the conversations of ‘The GOAT’.
