Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry opens up and talks about his future with the Dubs, ahead of the final year of his contract

The Golden State Warriors have managed to make a quick run in the past few days. Riding on Curry’s flurry, the Warriors have a 4 game win streak.
Stephen Curry has been in sensational form this entire month. He has been averaging a whopping 39 points per game in the month of April. This has improved his season average to 30.7 from 29.8.
Before the start of the season, Steph had a chance to sign a contract extension. He refused the same back then. While Warriors’ GM Bob Myers did not seem worried by this at all, it sure did put Curry in the rumor mills.
The biggest rumor that generated was that LeBron James tried to recruit Stephen Curry post the All-Star game. The Lakers star is notorious for being a spirited recruiter at occasions like this.
Stephen Curry talks about the future with the Warriors
Steph has time and again batted away all doubts about being recruited to some other team. The Chef has mentioned quite a few times that he wants to retire as a Warrior. In an interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols, Curry reiterated the same.
Curry mentioned the likes of Dirk Nowitzki and Kobe Bryant, and how the two of them stayed loyal to one team their whole career. Curry wants to do the same. However, when Curry said that ‘you never know what can happen’, he did leave a bit of doubt there.
Most probably Curry might be talking about the Warriors and him both meeting on a number they like. Curry turned 33 this year, so this may be the last big contract that he signs.
He needs to make sure that it counts. From the Warriors’ perspective, the way Steph has been playing, it should be a no-brainer to give him the big bucks.
