Parthiv Patel gives brilliant response after RCB asks fans to choose between him and Devdutt Padikkal as opener

Parthiv Patel gives a brilliant response after RCB asks fans to select between him and Devdutt Padikkal as the team opening batsman.

RCB traditionally had a heavy problem in choosing their opening pair, as their heavy top order never allowed the management to revolve around a single pair consistently.

Last season Parthiv Patel was promoted as the opener of RCB and most of the times skipper Virat Kohli used to step down on the field with him as a part of the opening pair.

Despite it, RCB is once again confused about their opening pair for the upcoming season as Royal Challengers Banglore’s Devdutt Padikkal has been in stunning form in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

The Karnataka opener has been one of the best performers in the tournament and is currently leading the run-scorers’ chart. In 10 games so far, he has scored 461 runs while scoring one century and four fifties.

Thus, RCB is certainly is confused about its opening par, and their recent social media post definitely signals it. The franchise asked the fans on Instagram to choose one between Parthiv and Padikkal as an opener.

But in doing so, they came up with a match situation which did not impress Parthiv. The franchise asked the fans who would they prefer to open the innings alongside Virat Kohli if the target is 240.

An unimpressed Parthiv then hilariously asked the franchise why do they want the team to concede as much as 239 in 20 overs. Which made comment section go into a laughter riot.

Meanwhile, Patel was one of the saving graces in RCB’s disastrous campaign last season, where the Bangalore based team only won 5 matches out of 14. The 34-year-old batsman ended with 373 runs on the board.
