RCB’s green jersey fixture is against RR on April 15

Royal Challengers Bangalore would be itching to make a mark in the IPL this season, after enduring 10 long seasons without an IPL title.

With Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers retained and the likes of Brendon McCullum, Quinton de Kock and NCN being drafted in, this RCB looks as balanced as ever and could indeed challenge for the title once again.

Every year RCB have one home ‘green game’ wherein RCB wear the green jersey to promote a sustainable environment in the world, especially the use of bicycles over others modes of transport.

This time round, RCB will be playing their ‘green game’ on the 15th of April against Rajasthan Royals.

Virat Kohli the captain will be handing over a plant to Steve Smith before the game and all RCB players will have their twitter handles on their back instead of their regular jersey names.

The jersey for the game against RR will be made with recycled plastic.

RCB’s jersey was revealed today at tan event and the title sponsors, Nuvoco Vistas Corp Ltd, who will be displaying their brand name ‘Duraguard Cement’.

The Chief of sales marketing and innovation of the company told reporters that their firm too supports the ‘go green’ initiative.

“We salute RCB’s sustainability approach of playing one game each season with a green jersey made of recycled plastic. Incidentally, Duraguard Cement is also available in Green bags.”

“We are proud and delighted to be associated as principal partner with a dynamic and unique team like RCB. Their style of play is quite innovative and the squad is dynamic and charismatic with players like AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal, Umesh Yadav; not to mention skipper Virat Kohli,” she said.

RCB will start their IPL campaign against KKR on April 8.
