Real Madrid have requesting a meeting with Eder Militao’s agent to wrap up the deal.

Real Madrid are reportedly looking for a centre-back who could help them long-term as they seek a strengthen the department which has just three players. In order to reinforce, they are looking at Eder Militao from FC Porto who has caught the eyes of several scouts in recent months.

According to the Portuguese publication A Bola, it is understood that the Los Blancos have requested a meeting with Eder Militao’s agent to finalize a deal which should be officially confirmed in the summer transfer window.

The fee is believed to be 42 million Euros, rising to 50 million Euros which will depend on his performance at Santiago Bernabeu. The annual salary is also believed to be around 3.5 million per year.

Apart from Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester United are the other two sides having one eye on the defender to lure him to England. However, the Los Blancos are looking to close the deal quickly to fend off interest from those two sides.

The report also adds on that Real Madrid have been tracking the defender since his arrival from Sao Paulo during the last transfer window and have been blown away with his maturity at this age.

The 20-year-old has been in fine fettle since his move from the Brazillian league and has been one of the best players for Porto under the management of Sergio Conceicao.

His fine form was enough to convince the Brazilian manager Tite who included the defender in his squad and handed over the debut in a 5-0 win over El Salvador last September.

In any event, Porto does not want to lose his services during midway of the season and will be prepared to cash him in the summer at the earliest.

Militao can play as a defensive midfielder made 37 appearances for Sao Paulo before plying his trade to Porto in 2018 in a fee involving just 4 million euros. He has been one of the prominent figures in Portugal and has won the Defender of the month thrice this season.

Should Mourinho be appointed as the next manager of Real Madrid, there is no doubt that he would be looking to bring him to Santiago Bernabeu.
