Cristiano Ronaldo was on song in the game against Morocco as well, as he scored the only goal in Portugal’s 1-0 win.

The Portuguese star forward became the highest European goalscorer in the history when he headed past Moroccan goalkeeper yesterday. He scored his, and Portugal’s fourth goal in the tournament, leading the charts in the World Cup this year.

Ronaldo made a dream-start in Portugal’s first match of the World Cup, when he scored a hattrick past Spain in a highly entertaining 3-3 draw. The Portuguese’s form at the World Cup has kick-started the “GOAT” debate again, which was later fuelled when Ronaldo sported a “goatee” in Portugal’s second match.

However, one person is not impressed by Ronaldo’s adoration. And he is Morocco’s player Nordin Amrabat. While speaking on Dutch TV, he claimed that the referee asked Pepe for Ronaldo’s shirt.

“I do not know what he is used to, but he was very impressed by Cristiano Ronaldo, and I hear from Pepe that he asked in the first half if he should have his shirt, what are we talking about? at the World Cup, it’s not a circus here,” Amrabat said.

A few decision went against Morocco’s favour in the match, and another Morocco player Karim El Ahmadi stated that Ronaldo’s goal should’ve been disallowed because it was a “violation.”

Morocco became the first team to be eliminated in the World Cup this year, and they were later followed by Egypt. Meanwhile, Iran will now play a do-or-die match against Portugal, where they will attempt to neutralise Cristiano Ronaldo on the field.
