Arrivabene has been sacked as the Ferrari team principal, with Binotto replacing him at the top of racing affairs for Ferrari.

The power struggle at Ferrari has finally come to an end, after the workforce demanded that Binotto be made the team principal after a year that saw Arrivabene fail in his role as the team principal.

Ferrari’s technical team, led by Binotto, dished out a car that was at par or even better in terms of pace and performance than Mercedes.

However, the strategy calls made by Arrivabene and the on-track mistakes made by Vettel, meant that Mercedes still managed to clinch their 5th straight constructor’s championship, despite not having the fastest car on the grid for a large part of the season.

Arrivabene was seen as the major culprit, and had to be sacked, as there was a growing unrest within the engineers that worked for Ferrari.

They wanted Binotto to be at the helm of affairs, making decisions on track, those that would directly affect Ferrari’s chances of winning the world title.

Now, while Arrivabene would have been hit hard by the sacking reports state that he is not leaving F1 any time soon.

AutoBild has reported that Arrivabene could assume a role at Sauber and be re-united with Kimi Raikkonen.

Arrivabene has always had a good relationship with Raikkonen and the duo could flourish in this new partnership, if the deal goes through.
