The Portuguese will become the player with most Champions League wins if Real Madrid beats Liverpool on May 27.

Real Madrid’s star forward Cristiano Ronaldo is almost synonymous to footballing records. On May 27, the Portuguese winger can add one more world record to his name if he wins the Champions League title.

Cristiano Ronaldo may become the first player to lift the Champions League trophy on five occasions if Real Madrid beats Liverpool at Kiev.

In the previous season, Ronaldo equaled Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique, Lionel Messi and Clarence Seedorf, when he won his fourth Champions League title.

Cristiano Ronaldo has won three European titles with Real Madrid, while his first Champions League trophy came at Manchester United.

Ronaldo’s Champions League titles:

2007-08 – Manchester United

2013-14 – Real Madrid

Cristiano Ronaldo has once again been the main man for Real Madrid this season, scoring 15 goals. The Portuguese winger is currently the top goalscorer in this year’s European competition.

Ronaldo also holds the record for most goals overall in the Champions League. The five-times Balon d’Or winner has struck the net on 120 occasions, twenty times more than the second-highest, Lionel Messi.

Real Madrid would like to finish the season on a high after a disappointing league campaign. Los Blancos currently sit at third position, 18 points behind champions and El Clasico rivals FC Barcelona.

The Portuguese star suffered an injury during the El Clasico last Sunday, and is unlikely to be the part of rest of the league campaign. However, he is confirmed to return by the time of the final.

Cristiano Ronaldo will also eye his sixth Balon d’Or as he pushes to lead Real Madrid to their 13th Champions League title.

Earlier in the Champions League campaign, Ronaldo became the first player to score in ten consecutive game running. He broke his former teammate Ruud van Nistelrooy’s record, which he set for Manchester United in the 2002-03 campaign.
