Kimi Raikkonen’s F1 future hangs in the balance, however, according to a report in France, it seems like the Finn has agreed to a two-year extension with the Italian team.

Raikkonen and Vettel have had a solid partnership this season, with Kimi actually managing more podium finishes than the German.

Kimi however still seems plagued by mistakes during qualifying, something that has left him needing that little bit more on race days.

When Sergio Marchionne was the Ferrari boss, it seemed more and more likely that Charles Leclerc could take Kimi’s place from next season on. However, his untimely passing away, and the coming up of a new Ferrari top management has meant that stability is the need of the hour.

The Ferrari management wants to have the same partnership going for the next couple of years, so as to let the management focus more on off track matters after the sad passing away of Marchionne.

Leclerc would be gutted by the decision(if it infact is true), as he was hopeful of a Ferrari seat next year. The Sauber driver would now have to wait for 2 years before having the chance of driving for F1’s elite.

Raikkonen had earlier confirmed that he wanted to continue with Ferrari and it was upto the team to make the decision. The decision has reportedly been taken now and Raikkonen fans would be thrilled that they have two more years of ‘Kimi brilliance’ on the race track.

Do you think Kimi has it in him two compete at the highest level with Ferrari for two more years?
