It was always on the cards, the team which has won the Western Conference Finals would always be the favourites to win the NBA Finals. A re-match between Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors was how it turned out after the Warriors knicked past the Houston Rockets 4-3 in the Western Conference Finals.

A tough test was on the cards for the Warriors, as a determined LeBron James led the Cleveland Cavaliers went past the Boston Celtics. A win for the Warriors would get them to their 3rd NBA title in four years, and a win for the Cavaliers would get them to their 2nd NBA title in four years.

The Warriors team that Cavs faced were the favourites, despite them losing in nearly 24 games during the regular season with Houston going past them. While the Rockets chased records, Warriors were getting past injuries and putting up performances after performances with a broken team.

4-1 phenomenon:

Last year, the same Warriors had gone past the home side in a dominant fashion with a 4-1 win in the NBA Finals. This year, however, they did one better by sweeping past the Cavaliers in a series filled with brain-fades, and difficult shot after shots.

In the Game 4 of the finals, it was a team effort from the Warriors with Stephen Curry leading the scoring tally for the away side. Stephen Curry led Golden State with 37 points, and Kevin Durant added 20 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists.

With nearly 57 points from the duo, the Warriors won the fourth game 108-85 at the Quicken Loans Arena. There was nothing the determined nemesis LeBron could do to challenge the warriors. A Kyrie-less Cavaliers looked clueless to all the challenges posed by the Warriors.

Game 1 decision costs the Cavs:

In Game 1, it was the poor decision made by JR Smith which led them to an OT loss against the Warriors, while the Warriors swept the second game fair and square. The third game was fought hard and contested fairly, with the Warriors showing champions spirit by coming back to win the game making Game 4 a formality.

Twitter was ecstatic for the Warriors, while it turned out to be a night of disappointment for the Cavaliers fans.

More importantly, Twitter found it sad to digest to the fact that LeBron could not lead the Cavs to their second title, despite a record-breaking season for the No 23.

Here is how Twitter reacted:
