Twitter reactions on Rishabh Pant sealing 192-run chase

Twitter reactions on Rishabh Pant sealing 192-run chase: Twitter was excited to watch the 21-year old cricketer winning it for Capitals.

During the 40th match of the ongoing 12th season of the Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals at Jaipur, Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals by 6 wickets to register their seventh IPL 2019 victory.

Chasing a 192-run target, Delhi got off to an impressive start on the back of opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan taking on the Royals’ bowlers. Having scored 59 runs without losing a wicket in the powerplay, Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw had laid an apt foundation for the others.

Dhawan’s attempt to maintain the momentum post the powerplay saw him altogether missing a Shreyas Gopal delivery and getting stumped. The southpaw ended up scoring 54 (27) with the help of eight fours and two sixes.

It was a match-winning 84-run partnership for the third wicket between Shaw and DC wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant which saw the visitors register their fifth away victory in IPL 2019.

The fact that Capitals scored 111 runs in the last 10 overs speaks highly about the manner in which their batsmen sealed the chase. Despite Shaw (42) getting out in the 17th over, Pant played a responsible innings which saw his team through to the chase.

Having been accused of not finishing matches for Capitals, Pant proved his critics wrong after taking his team to victory tonight. Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the ninth over, Pant ended up scoring 78* (36) with the help of six fours an four sixes.

After Delhi captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and put the hosts in to bat, Rajasthan ended up scoring 191/6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Former captain Ajinkya Rahane scored his second IPL century to take his team to the given total. Carrying his bat through, Rahane scored 105* (63) with the help of 11 fours and three sixes.

With bowling figures of 4-0-37-2, Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers for Delhi.
