UEFA Awards 2020/2021: Which players won the awards for their exceptional performances in the 2020/21 season.
The prestigious UEFA awards for individual players were dominated by Bayern Munich and Lyon in women’s category.
The Best goalkeeper award went to Manuel Neuer, who has seen a marvellous resurgence lasts season, leading his side to clinch the treble.
Joshua Kimmich, the young teammate of Neuer became the best defender. Amidst all of this, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne prevented Bayern Munich’s absolute dominance on the awards as he became the best midfielder.
Coming to the best forward of the season, there were no doubts who is going to take it home and it was Robert Lewandowski, who also secured the player of the season award for the first time in his career.
The Polish striker bagged 55 goals and 10 assists in 47 games across all competitions to win the maiden treble of his career. He also won the Champions League for the first time in his career, a dream which was incomplete since 2013.
As of now, Bayern Munich still looks solid and there are no doubts that they can replicate their last season, until someone spoils their party.
