Video compilation of Lionel Messi on internet tries to suggest why Messi deserves 6th Ballon D'or

Video compilation of Lionel Messi on the internet tries to prove Messi’s legitimate claim at his 6th Ballon D’or win ahead of Virgil Van Dijk.

Lionel Messi was recently awarded Ballon D’or ahead of Virgil Van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo after journalists throughout the world chose Messi in majority to make him win the award.

Amidst this, many slightly disregarded the judgement and argued that Liverpool’s Van Dijk should have won the award ahead of the Argentine superstar since Van Dijk played an exceptional role in Liverpool’s Champions League triumph.

But on the other side, Messi had one of the most extraordinary calendar years in his career. Probably the best after his 2012 year, where he managed to bag 91 goals in a year.

Thus, to validate this claim, a fan has released a compilation video of Messi’s exceptional moments in 2019, which made him win the prestigious award in Paris.

YouTuber ‘MessiTheBoss’ – take from that username what you will – has created the compilation and it has been aptly titled: ‘Here’s Why Lionel Messi Won His 6th Ballon d’Or.’

And the video evidence for each reason seems to have gone down pretty well because the 11-minute montage has been viewed by almost one million people in 24 hours.

Apart from the Ballon D’or, Messi was also awarded with the FIFA Player of the year award. Meanwhile, Van Dijk bagged UEFA Player of the year award and Players’ Player of the year award.

Van Dijk’s performances in 2019 have been proved to be the best since last 13 years after he came second in both FIFA Player of the year and Ballon D’or.

Currently, Van Dijk is having a great spell with Liverpool as the Reds are still undefeated in the league this season and are favourites to win the league.
