Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma

A run-out between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma is a common occurrence, and the common occurrence made an appearance today as well, with Virat Kohli becoming the victim of the Kohli-Sharma mix up this time round.

The duo were going along merrily, with Kohli playing the sheet anchor role and Rohit Sharma playing the aggressor, but for the umpteenth time, the duo lacked communication while running, and Kohli ended up losing his wicket.

Rohit Sharma had played the ball to the off-side and took a step or two towards the non-strikers end before raising his bat and shouting a loud ‘no’, but Virat Kohli was already near Rohit Sharma’s end.

He then had to turn around and scamper towards the non-strikers end, but it was a little too late.

JP Duminy fielded the ball and threw it underarm to ensure that he hit the stumps.

Check out the video:

Virat Kohli was visibly angry with what had just transpired, and was livid with himself, while walking back to the pavilion.

The camera then tried to capture Kohli’s reaction in the dressing room, and he was seen throwing his pad in anger, as he had worked hard to get himself in on this rather slow and sluggish Port Elizabeth track.

This is the 7th time that Kohli and Rohit have been involved in a run-out, with Kohli getting out 5 times.

Match Situation

While India were cruising initially, they have now been pegged back by the South Africans, due to two runs outs(yes, Rahane has been run-out as well).

Shreyas Iyer and Rohit Sharma currently occupy the crease with the score being 181/3 in the 33rd over.
