Indian captain Virat Kohli rightfully received the BCCI player of the year award which he dedicated to his wife Anushka Sharma.

Virat Kohli does not make any bones about his romantic relationship with Bollywood Diva Anushka Sharma. The recently married couple gets frequently clicked hand in hand at public places. Hence it was only befitting that when Kohli received the BCCI player of the year award, he dedicated it to his wife Anushka Sharma.

What made the occasion more special is that Indian head coach Ravi Shastri presented the award to Kohli.

After receiving the award, Kohli said, “My wife’s here today so it makes it more special. The awards didn’t happen last year but I am glad they didn’t because she is here now.”

In the women’s category Harmanpreet Kaur received the Polly Umrigar award for the best women cricketer for the session 2016-17 where as Smriti Mandhana received the same for the season 2017-18.

In the memory of the one of the greatest Indian administrators Jagmohan Dalmia, the BCCI has named four awards in his memory. These will be presented to the highest run scorer and the leading wicket taker in under 16 Vijay Merchant trophy and Junior and senior women cricketer.

Making good use of the revenue on by IPL and through various International fixtures, the BCCI has decided to raise the price money for all the 9 categories by 50000 rupees. Previously, the winners got 1 lakh rupees which has now been raised to 1.5 Lakh rupees.

The CAB also known as the Cricket Association of Bengal has won the best state association award due to its consistent performances in the session 2016-17.
Just few hours earlier, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli were spotted at the Mumbai Airport where they had to catch a flight to Bangalore. Well, we now know the purpose of their visit!
