The run-machine, Virat Kohli is already going places. He is going from strength to strength in every format. What really adds charisma to his character is his ability to remain consistent. He has been scoring tons for fun, and it looks like his future is going to be even better.

The Indian skipper has climbed ladders to secure the second position in the latest ICC Test rankings. The effective and the most efficient run-machine is already ranked No.1 in the ODIs and T20Is. With the way he is plying his trade, it is no doubt that he would be raring to move to the first place in the red-ball format as well.

Virat Kohli certainly made his valuable presence count in the recently-concluded Test series against Sri Lanka where he essayed a flamboyant 610 runs in three matches, spicing it up with two double centuries, 1 century and a solitary fifty. He ended the calendar year with 2818 runs overall.

The Indian skipper is rested for the limited-overs and T20I series against Sri Lanka. Kohli who was 5th in the rankings earlier upped his ante to reach second now. As of now, Virat Kohli was the third highest run-scorer in Tests with 1,059 runs at a spectacular average of 75.64.

With the South Africa tour getting underway at the start of the next year, Kohli gets a good opportunity to close in on the gap of Australia skipper Steven Smith. King Kohli will be looking forward to cashing in on the chances in the Test matches to come.
