Down 1-0 against Burnley, Newcastle United looked headed towards another win. However, Allan Saint-Maximin had other plans with the player coming on to spearhead his side’s incredible turnaround on the night.
Finally getting a clean bill of health after spending a solid time on the injury bed, Allan Saint-Maximin was called upon in the second half to try and spark his side’s attacking gameplan. And the Newcastle United man did exactly that, snagging an assist for his side’s equaliser before going onto net one himself.

And it was a strike deserving of winning his team the match. Picking the ball up quite some distance away from the Burnley goal, Allan utilised his searing speed to burn past Burnley’s players before utilising his skill set to hoodwink the defenders and slot home a sterling strike.
The goal assured his side of a 2-1 win on the day and with it all but assured the club of safety this season. Meanwhile, Burnley’s catapultian continued unabated with the club now sitting on the anvil of the bottom three.
Allan Saint-Maximin talked about his performance ensuing the result.
“I feel really great. Everyone knows how important these games are. I give this win to the supporters. I am happy to score to help my team mates.
“I was frustrated to be on the bench and we were losing 1-0. I said to the coach to give me 30 minutes to show me what I can do. I had to be ready.
“It is a big opportunity. We have six points on Fulham. We just have to win and keep going forward against West Ham. When you have been losing it is important to come back stronger.”
Burnley had earlier taken the lead on the night in the first half through Vydra. The club has now gone onto lose both of its last couple of affairs with the side winning just the lone tie in its last five affairs.
