Australian kid copies Jasprit Bumrah's bowling action

Australian kid copies Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action: A video of an Australian kid copying the Indian fast bowler’s action has gone viral.

The video of an Australian kid emulating India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah’s bowling action has gone viral on social media after it was uploaded on Twitter.

Bowling in the backyard of perhaps his house, the kid run in from a short run-up, somewhat similar to what Bumrah does. Funnily enough, he ends up falling on the ground after the delivery stride.

“The only problem from your great series win may be the next generation of Aussie cricketers you have inspired!,” the caption of the video read. The user had also tagged Bumrah and Cricket Expert Harsha Bhogle in his tweet.

The video didn’t take much time in circulating on the platform, coming to the notice of the ICC (International Cricket Council), whose retweet further helped its case to reach a wider audience.

Eventually, Bumrah was also seen as reacting on the video. “The kid is so cute. Give him my best wishes,” Bumrah’s tweet read.

The 25-year old right-arm fast bowler was the joint-highest wicket-taker in the recently concluded Test series against Australia. In four matches, he picked up 21 wickets at an average of 17, an economy rate of 2.27 and a strike rate of 44.9.

Having bowled the most number of balls by a fast bowler in the series, Bumrah has been rested for the upcoming limited-overs series against Australia and New Zealand.
