During the first ODI of the ongoing India’s tour of Australia at Sydney, India fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar made early inroads into the the Australia batting line-up as he sent back Australia captain Aaron Finch in his second over.
Bhuveshwar, who took the new ball for India, made an instant impact on the opposition as the second delivery of his second over went on to beat Finch. Minimal footwork didn’t help the batsman’s case either. Once the ball went between his bat and pad, it all bound to hit the stumps and it did.

Finch, who opened the batting alongside wicket-keeper batsman Alex Carey, ended up scoring 6 (11) during his short stay in the middle.
The wicket came as Bhuvneshwar’s 100th ODI wicket. With it coming in his 96th ODI, it puts him fifth in the list of most matches played to pick 100 ODI wickets. Despite him being a vital member of India’s limited-overs side, Bhuvneshwar would be looking to improve on his numbers in the times to come.
Bhuvneshwar has become the 18th Indian bowler to reach the milestone. He is the 11th Indian fast bowler to grab 100 ODI dismissals.

Earlier, Finch had won the toss and chose to bat. While Australia had announced their playing XI yesterday, India did it in the morning. Surprisingly, India opted to play wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik ahead of all-rounder Kedar Jadhav.
There is no doubt in Karthik as a batsman but his inclusion leaves India with only five bowling options. India might face difficulty in case of a bowler going through an off-day.
