Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya has had the perfect 2nd innings at Port Elizabeth tonight.

His day started off with a golden duck, unable to trouble the scorers during India’s pursuit of setting the Proteas with a daunting total.

Pandya though nicked one off to the keeper to add to his batting woes. However, the second innings was all about Pandya.

With Amla and JP Duminy going along nicely and the initial spell of the Bhuvi and Bumrah having come to an end, the onus was on Pandya to keep the South Africans at bay and maybe chip in with a wicket or two.

He did more than what was expected, nicking off JP Duminy and the dangerous ABD to give India a stronghold in this match.

Amla though continued in traditional fashion, keeping South Africa in the hunt, but Pandya got him run-out, throwing the stumps down in emphatic fashion to almost end South Africa’s hopes of winning the 5th ODI.

While all of that had the most impact in the game, the Pandya special came lot on in the game, wherein he plucked a one handed catch to dismiss Shamsi, almost colliding with Dhawan.
