Cristiano Ronaldo’s lack of judgment hands out the defeat to the Old Lady.

Juventus’ costliest player Cristiano Ronaldo made a poor judgment to stay in an offside position and divert the ball into the back from the shot of Paulo Dybala which could have been considered as the goal of the season.

The Argentine thought that he had pulled things back for the Old Lady to draw the game, but the flag was raised by the linesman signaling that the Portuguese International headed the ball from an offside position.

Young Boys talisman Guillaume Hoarau slotted the penalty calmly past Wojciech Szczesny in the first half and added one more to his tally in the second half before Dybala came on a substitute to give the visitors some hope with his fabulous strike from outside the box to see the net bulging in the 80th minute. He could have added one more to his name, but it was canceled out due to an error of percipience from Ronaldo.

Despite sealing the qualification for the knockouts, Massimiliano Allegri chose to field a strong eleven. But, it did not do the trick for the Old Lady as they slumped for the second time this season in the Champions League group stages having already been handed out the defeat by Manchester United at the Allianz Stadium.

On the other hand, Young Boys will have to return empty-handed from the Champions League journey albeit securing their first win in this year’s Champions League group stages. Another tie saw Manchester United going down to Valencia at Mestalla, which will force the Spanish outfit to take part in the Europe League.

It has been a patch of events for the Portuguese International Ronaldo who was sent off in a bizarre fashion against Valencia in Mestalla during the first game of Juventus’ Champions League campaign. He would in the headlines for trying to deviate the ball from an offside position.

The former Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo has the highest number of goals in a Champions League group stages with 11 during the 2015/16 season. However, he has struggled to replicate his same form with the Old Lady by netting just 1 goal in 5 appearances this term.

Besides, he has failed to score an away goal in the Champions League group stages for the first time after in 10 years.

Juventus would be avoiding Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain, Manchester City or Bayern Munich in the forthcoming round following their first placed finish. The draw for the Champions League Round of 16 will take place on Monday
