Virat Kohli celebrates as Jasprit Bumrah hits a six: The Indian captain was witnessed dancing in joy after the shot was played.
During the fourth ODI of the ongoing Australia’s tour of India at Ranchi, India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah hit his first six in international cricket. Bumrah had put on display a shot which ended up becoming a source of amazement for both the Indian cricketers and the fans.
Coming in to bat at No. 11, Bumrah had just one ball to face off Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins. In which was a length delivery, Bumrah played a proper cricketing shot as he hit Cummins for a six over deep mid-wicket.
India captain Virat Kohli was witnessed dancing in the dressing room after Bumrah hit the six. The shot coming from someone like Bumrah had further surprised the one and all.
In 47 ODIs (excluding the ongoing match), Bumrah has scored 11 runs at an average of 2.20 and a strike rate of 29.72. A quintessential No. 11, the right-hand batsman has batted on just eight occasions in ODIs.
In their allotted quota of 50 overs, India ended up scoring 358-9. The opening pair of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma stitched a 193-run opening stand to give India a head-start in the match. Top-scoring for his team, Dhawan ended up scoring his 16th ODI century, 143 (115), with the help of 18 fours and three sixes. With bowling figures of 10-0-70-5, Cummins was the pick of the Australian bowlers.

That last six from Bumrah had everyone in splits. Even on an excellent batting surface, 358 is a formidable score.
