Adrian Newey Reveals How Red Bull Earned $2 Billion Thanks to an Era of Dominance With Sebastian Vettel

Since 2005 Red Bull has been involved in the world of F1 through its two teams Red Bull Racing and Alpha Tauri.

Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz was a passionate motorsports fan and translated that through his investment in the sport.

Most teams participating in F1 are car manufacturers that see F1 as a good way to boost car sales.

However, Mateschitz also saw it as a brilliant tool for marketing his energy drink.

With Vettel from 2010-2013 the team enjoy four years of domination which saw them win four constructors and drivers titles.

How did the success on track translate to sales off it? Red Bull CTO Adrian Newey revealed the numbers in his autobiography.

“Between 2000 and 2014, Red Bull gained an estimated $2 billion in advertising simply by being involved in F1" said Newey in his book.
