How a $168 Million Mistake Helped Michael Jordan Protect His Billion Dollar Empire

Michael Jordan is one of the richest athletes in the world thanks to his partnership with Nike.

In 2022 alone, Jordan made over $250 million from the overall Air Jordan sales for Nike.

Needless to say, the six-time NBA champion has a huge portfolio of assets, business interests and investments that need to be protected.

This was a lesson learnt by Jordan after his first marriage with Juanita Vanoy ended in divorce in 2006.

At the time of the divorce, Jordan was ordered by a court to pay Vanoy $168 million which was a record for a celebrity split at the time.

Jordan has since learnt his mistake and signed a prenuptial agreement with his current wife.

In case of a divorce, Jordan will not have to pay anywhere near the amount that he did the first time he got divorced.
