How Derek Jeter’s Investment Boosted Michael Jordan’s MLB Franchise Value to $1 Billion

Michael Jordan is the richest athlete on the planet with investments in various sports including NASCAR, MLB and NBA.

Most recently, Jordan sold his NBA team Charlotte Hornets for a whopping $3 billion.

Which means that Jordan is still involved in two other sports NASCAR and MLB.

Jordan is a minority stake holder in the Miami Marlins MLB franchise.

In 2017, an investment group led by Derek Jeter acquired a significant stake in the Marlins.

Ever since Jeter joined the team as a part owner the valuation of the team has increased.

As of 2022, the team is valued at around $1 billion. It was the lowest valued MLB team in 2020.
