Just a few hours before kick off for the 2023 season, the Bengals announced they had reached an agreement with Joe Burrow for a contract extension.

Burrow signed a 5-year $275 million extension with the Bengals which makes him the highest paid athlete in NFL history.

Burrow is set to make on paper $55 million a year. How much of it will he actually take home? lets take a closer look.

On his $55 million salary Burrow will have to shell out $20.3 million on federal tax.

In addition to that Burrow will have to shell out $1.7 million in agent fee and $1.6 million in jock tax.

Burrow will also pay $1.3 million in FICA and $1.1 million in Ohio tax.

This means that Burrow's next income every year will be $29 million on his $55 million salary.
