The Story Behind: Jordan 1 Satin Shattered Backboard
During the time of the launch, Even Nike probably wouldn't have imagine how huge of a success their Jordan lineup will be in the coming future!
Air Jordans are much more than shoes to be worn on the basketball court, the line has become ingrained in all avenues of pop culture, from art and fashion to music and film.
Today, let's take a closer look at a pair that was released half a decade ago, in 2018. One of the favorites of sneakerheads is the "Jordan 1 Satin Shattered Backboard."
The original Jordan 1 High Shattered Backboard was released in 2015 and many people passed on them. But nowadays, it’s one of the most wanted non-original colorways from the Jordan 1 silhouette!
On August 1985, Jordan played an exhibition game in Trieste, Italy. Jordan’s dunk was so powerful in that game that Jordan shattered the glass of the backboard. He was wearing the black, white, and orange colors that game. That’s where the name and colorway come from.
Then in 2016, a year after the release of the Jordan 1 High Shattered Backboard, the Jordan 1 High Reverse Shattered Backboard, also known as the Jordan 1 High Shattered Backboard 2.0 released.
2 years later, the Jordan 1 High Satin Shattered Backboard was released. The same colorways, only this time with a satin upper, premium leather, embroidered logo, and a full translucent orange outsole.
