Who Is the First NBA Player With a $100 Million Contract?

Over the past few years, the NBA has grown massively in popularity.

Because of the rapid growth of the league, the money involved in the sport has also grown astronomically.

With contracts often exceeding the $200 million mark these days we take a look at the first athlete to sign a $100 million contract in the NBA.

Juwan Howard of the Washington Bullets was the first person to sign a contract in excess of $100 million.

In 1996, Howard signed a seven-year $105 million contract with the Bullets which set a precedent for the rest of the league to follow.

During his career in the NBA, Howard won the NBA championships twice with the Heat.

The biggest contract in the NBA at the moment is a 5-year $270 million contract signed by Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.
