Given his stature as one of the most recognisable individuals on the planet, there is a huge amount of opportunity for promotional campaigns using just his social media. It is to this end that he charges heavily to market his upcoming films.
On Instagram alone, The Rock has 358 million followers. It is impossible to ignore that reach. The actor who used to be a wrestler is well aware of this.
He has it stipulated in his contract that he will receive a sizable payment each time he writes a post on the films he appears in.
According to a report from Variety, The Rock had a hefty price in his package to promote his 2021 film Red Notice. The Brahma Bull made $1 million every time he put out a post on his Instagram and Twitter promoting the Netflix movie.
In addition to the money he earned on social media, he also earned $22 Million for the film. In addition, he received $1 million for every $25 million that Red Notice made at the global box office!
The Rock is believed to have earned $50 million in total, while others believe that given his extra role as a principal producer, the actual figure may be substantially higher.
Despite the film's unfavourable reviews, Netflix states that just four weeks after its premiere, it had become the most watched film on their network.
