Mahendra Singh Dhoni has maintained his reputation of being an extremely calm individual both on and off the field. He is often praised for having a sharp cricketing brain and reads game situations with great accuracy.

Dhoni’s presence in the current Indian team, helps the young players to deliver their best performances, making him an asset for India’s World Cup preparations. Although he is known as “Captain Cool”, there have been cases when Dhoni has lost his composure.

Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal appeared on Vikram Sathaye’s chat show ‘What the Duck’ where the wrist spinners talked about their experiences in the game. During the show, the chinaman talked about an incident when MS Dhoni got angry on him for not setting the field according to how he suggested.

The incident happened during a T20I game in Indore between India and Sri Lanka where the Indians had posted a total of 260 runs. The Sri Lankans looked menacing during their batting and were hitting the Indian bowlers all around the park.

Kuldeep recalled how Dhoni, would always help him by giving inputs on where to bowl according to the batsman and the situation. During the match, he said every time when the ball went to the boundary, he would look up to Dhoni and Dhoni would ask him to bowl away from the batsman.

At one point in the game, the former skipper went to Kuldeep and suggested that he should remove the fielder at covers and bring the point fielder in the ring. The chinaman, who was in a bit of a hurry to bowl his next delivery, said he was fine with the current field. It was then that Dhoni yelled at him, “Kya mai pagal hu yaha pe mai 300 ODI khela hu (Am I mad here, I have played 300 ODI games).”

Kuldeep then made the field changes accordingly and he got a wicket. After the wicket, Dhoni walked up to him and said, “That’s what I was talking about.”
