Recently released superstar Heath Slater makes a surprise WWE RAW return to challenge Drew McIntyre. Slater had been recently let go by Vince McMahon.
Following the coronavirus pandemic, the WWE decided to part ways with a number of wrestlers. April 15th 2020, one of the darkest days in WWE history saw 30 talents including Superstars, referees and several other backstage personnel lose their job.

Heath Slater, who was also let go by the WWE, made a surprise appearance on WWE RAW tonight in the opening segment of the night. Flaunting a free agent shirt, Slater would challenge his former 3MB stablemate to a match.

The night began with Dolph Ziggler and WWE Champion Drew McIntyre facing off each other on the mic. Ziggler claimed that he wasn’t the only one McIntyre had left behind in his quest for the WWE Championship.
Slater then walked out and cut an emotional promo stating that he was always by McIntyre’s side when he was fired by the WWE years ago. However, McIntyre never returned the favour now that Slater himself had lost his job.
Drew McIntyre, who has been swatting opponents left and right, seemed reluctant to accept his former teammate’s challenge. However, he accepted after being struck twice by Slater. The match ended rather quickly with a Claymore kick.
The segment ended with McIntyre chasing ZIggler away after the Show Off berated Slater for losing. McIntyre and his real-life friend Slater then hugged it out in the middle of the ring to bring the segment to an emotional finish.
