Chelsea are still sitting in the top 4 comfortably despite the loss. However, Lampard will be very of the sides just behind him, who are quickly approaching the top 4 themselves. The Blues will want to be assured of a place in the Champions league next season without having to rely on winning the European competition just to be allowed to played in it, next term.
Newcastle United on the other hand, will be relived to put an end on their winless run. Especially with a shock win over a more fancied side. The sides loyal fans will be absolutely overjoyed with the victory and will want even more from the side. However, they will hope not to be at the receiving end of one of Matt Ritchie’s devastating kicks to the corner flag.
