Manchester United confirms new arrangement with Sheffield United over Dean Henderson
Manchester United confirms new arrangement with Sheffield United over the current stay of Dean Henderson on loan with the Blades.
Manchester United and Sheffield United have confirmed the agreement reached between both the clubs over the extension of Dean Henderson’s stay with the Blades.
According to a report by the Manchester Evening News, Henderson will stay with Sheffield United until the end of the league season, as its remaining games were delayed because of the lockdown enforced after the widespread of the pandemic.
Henderson has been a key figure at Sheffield United this season, and performed beyond expectations, whereas Sheffield United has a high chance of ending up in Europe and therefore they seek the services of Henderson in the remaining games.
Otherwise, Henderson was obligated to return to his parent club by the end of this month, as the loan deal was valid till that time frame only, so giving a huge relief to Chris Wilder’s side.
As speculated, Henderson is deemed to play a part in the future endeavours of Manchester United and could replace struggling David De Gea by next season.
Even Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes he will become the first-choice goalkeeper for both United and England. Solskjaer said last week: “It’s a different job to be playing for Sheffield United and for Man United, there are different, how do you say, he’s got different roles and for me, the two years he’s had have been a fantastic development.
“He’s had to play with men, he’s had to play against men, he’s played in the Championship, and plays in a team that play fantastic football and exciting football.

“And as the stats show he’s proved worthy of quite a few points. He’s learning all the time, he’s a passionate keeper that wants to be the best, he’s developing, he’s got good coaching there and, I’ve said it before, one day he’ll be England No.1 and Man United No.1 and it’s up to him to keep developing.”
