BREAKING : Zlatan Ibrahimovic wants to join Real Madrid

But Zlatan’s supreme physique ensured that a full recovery will be made and is expected to make a return by January. His injury meant that United had to release him, making the Swedish captain the hottest free agent in the market.

Ibra showed last season that he still has plenty to offer, which is why there will be a host of clubs who would still want him. At the ripe old age of 35, Zlatan still has the ability and the motivation to perform at the highest level.

Los Blancos will be looking to strengthen their strike force themselves, but there are reasons why they might be averse to signing Zlatan.

For one, his age is always going to be a concern especially given the fact that he is coming out of a serious injury. His optimistic return date is January, which means he will be absent for at least the first half of the season.

Zlatan’s last outing in Spain did not prove to be a good one. He was bought by FC Barcelona for a humongous fee, but things went south the moment Zlatan’s relationship with Guardiola started deteriorating.
