Antonio Conte wants to get the Real Madrid job next summer
The last one and a half years must seem like a dream for Zinedine Zidane. The legendary French footballer has had an incredible impact as the Real Madrid boss, as Los Blancos have achieved huge success ever since he took over the club.
A humbling 4-0 loss to Barcelona in La Liga led to Rafa Benitez getting the sack from Real Madrid, which eventually led to Zidane getting the top job at the biggest club in the world.
As thing stand, Florentino Perez must be looking to replace Zidane as the Madrid coach, as another humbling loss to Barcelona (again at home) has effectively ended Real Madrid’s La Liga hopes this season.

In ordinary circumstances, Perez would not have hesitated before dismissing Zidane as the manager. But after the incredible success that Zidane has brought to the club in such a short span of time, Perez would not want to risk the ire of the fans by sacking Zidane.
The fact that Zidane has been an iconic player for Real also helps the Frenchman’s cause. But that does not mean Zidane will be the manager next season.
According to reports, Antonio Conte is a high priority for Perez as the Real president feels the Italian is well suited for the Real Madrid job.
This is what Ian McGarry had to say,
“I think he (Conte) wants the Real Madrid job.”
“The last thing Florentino Perez wants to do is sack an icon of his famous club.”
“And I think sacking won’t take place, it’ll be a word in his ear saying it’s time to go Zinedine because the players are not responding to you, or the training isn’t good enough, or whatever the reasons are behind that misfiring squad.”
“And I think Conte is desperate to get that job.”
“He’s admired by Perez. What he did in his first season at Chelsea was very impressive but without Champions League football.”
“But he’s not got his way with transfers – and that’s unlikely to be different at Real Madrid – but I think Spain or Germany would be his preffered choice because the Italian league is not as strong as what in the 1990s of 2000s.”
“The wages at Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund or Real Madrid would be two or three times more than at most clubs in Italy.”
