Aston Martin to Auction Lance Stroll’s $4,000 F1 Asset to Help 11-Year-Old’s Battle With Brain Tumour

Aston Martin has enjoyed a remarkable start to the 2023 season, securing 4 podiums in the first 5 races. The team is now inclined to share their good fortunes with a young Briton suffering from a brain tumor.

The team has already raised over $5,500 through an online quiz. The Silverstone-based aims to raise more funds by auctioning off driver Lance Stroll’s race-worn overalls.

Aston Martin joins British child’s battle against cancer

Aston Martin has pledged their support to 11-year-old Jade Upton’s fight. Upton was diagnosed with a grade 4 medulloblastoma after a routine checkup in 2020. He underwent surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy and beat the cancer.

However, recently his cancer returned, and the boy is undergoing chemotherapy. Bobbie Dunne, Jade’s father’s partner, is an Aston Martin F1 team member.

 

Thus, the British F1 team has lent their support to the youngster. The team will auction off Lance Stroll’s 2022 racing overalls, which reportedly cost $4,000 in the market, to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research.

So far, Aston has already raised over $5500 from an earlier quiz. The quiz winners received team merchandise, 3D printed models of their F1 car, and racing steering wheel.

Lance Stroll raised over $13000 in German GP weekend for Cancer Awareness

Aston Martin driver donated in 2019, thanks to his heroics in the German GP. The Canadian raised £11,000 ($13667) for Breast Cancer Care by finishing P4 in the race.

In 2019, the Racing Point F1 team’s main sponsor SportPesa, organized the “Grid That Gives” initiative. The team had pledged to donate $1,242 for every grid place gained during the race by Stroll and Sergio Perez.

 

The preceding from this noble initiative were donated to the UK-based Breast Cancer Care charity. The Canadian and Mexican driver raised $6210 by finishing P13 and P17 in the 2019 British GP.

However, in the following race in Hockenheimring, Stroll made a huge contribution to the cause. Starting the race P15, he finished P4, making up 11 places during the race.

Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat beat the Canadian for 3rd place by half a second. Yet, it was an extremely proud moment as the team achieved their best result of the season and raised an enormous amount for a noble cause.
