Pogba tweets after Jose Mourinho’s departure: Manchester United announced earlier today that the Portuguese manager has left the club.
Manchester United parted ways with Jose Mourinho two days after a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield. The club released a statement to announce the departure of the Portuguese manager, and thanked him for his services.
Jose Mourinho was appointed as the manager of Manchester United in 2016, and won three trophies during his time at the side. He won the Community Shield, Europa League and the EFL Cup in his first season at the club.
Manchester United endured a trophyless season in 2017/18, but finished second. However, it all went downwards since the beginning of the current season, as United finds itself at 6th place in the Premier League with only 26 points from 17 games.
The controversies off-the-pitch, especially over the relationship between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho marred the season for Manchester United further. As United announced the departure of Mourinho, Pogba seemed to throw some shade.
Pogba tweets after Jose Mourinho’s departure:
Paul Pogba tweeted minutes after the announcement of Mourinho’s departure by Manchester United. However, it was not a tweet thanking the manager, but what many fans believe a dig at Jose Mourinho.
Pogba posted a brand-endorsing tweet, with a picture of himself throwing a mischevious smile. The caption was, ‘Caption this.’
However, he deleted the tweet a few minutes later due to backlash from a section of fans.
Here’s the tweet:

The duo suffered a fall-out in relationship during Mourinho’s third season at the club. Paul Pogba attacked Mourinho’s tactics during a mixed-zone interview after the game, and the situation turned to worse after a training session video of an argument between the two was posted online.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are yet to announce the interim manager for the rest of the season.
“A new caretaker manager will be appointed till the end of the current season, while the club conducts a thorough recruitment process for a new, full-time manager,” Manchester United’s statement read.
