Barcelona and Real Madrid set to compete for Virgil Van Dijk and Jurgen Klopp

Barcelona and Real Madrid set to vie against each other to hire Virgil Van Dijk and Jurgen Klopp’s services from Liverpool.

Liverpool are on a sensational form since last season, as the Reds won the Champions League crown and stands five points clear off the table so far in the Premier League.

Much credits for this success goes to Jurgen Klopp and Virgil Van Dijk, who were very crucial in Liverpool’s lethal game-play. The Dutch defender was even awarded the UEFA player of the year for his performances throughout the season.

On the other hand, Jurgen Klopp undoubtedly brought the current transformation in Liverpool. The German manager took the Reds from scratch to glory with his plans.

Thus, according to a report by the AS, both Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to fight against each other to hire the services of Van Dijk and Klopp from Liverpool.

With Ernesto Valverde and Zinedine Zidane under the pressure of delivering regular success, both can lose their designations at any moment, especially Valverde, who faced humiliating comebacks against Roma and Liverpool to be knocked out of the Champions League in two seasons in a row.

Thus, both the clubs would like the prospect of signing Klopp, who is having a glorious career in England. Whereas, Van Dijk is definitely the best defender in the world, and still in his peak years, and with Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique entering the last phase of his career, Van Dijk is certainly an option to bolster their squads.

However, the move seems unrealistic as of now, since both Van Dijk and Klopp are enjoying the success they created at Liverpool, and the Reds would surely not allow to lose both the players at any cost.
