Chelsea and Manchester United to bid for Mesut Ozil

After a sketchy start to the season, Mesut Ozil has found his stride with Arsenal as the German is truly on fire right now.

A man of the match display against Tottenhma was backed up by another brilliant display against Huddersfield as Arsenal’s number 11 pulled the strings and conjured up magical moments in front of the Emirates faithful.

But while Mesut’s genius enthralls the Arsenal fans, the German’s refusal to sign a contract extension hangs over the minds of Gooners world wide.

With the clock ticking on his life at Arsenal, Ozil knows that he will be a much sought after player in a few months from now with a couple of really great offers coming in from England.

Ozil’s wonderful rapport with Jose Mourinho is no secret to anyone. The Portuguese managed the German during their time at Real Madrid and he even wrote a forward for Mesut’s autobiography which was released earlier this year.

Even during Ozil’s darkest hours with Arsenal, Jose was someone who always supported the German. Which is why Manchester United seems like a logical destination for Mesut Ozil if he decides to leave Arsenal next summer.

But it looks like Antonio Conte wants to throw a spanner in that prospective deal by putting up a huge offer for the attacking midfielder. Chelsea will try and match Manchester United’s offer for the German as Conte tries to get one over his rival Jose.

Then again, Mesut might thwart them both and stay at Arsenal!
