Chelsea Vs Liverpool: Will N'Golo Kante and Mason Mount take part against Jurgen Klopp's side?

Frank Lampard gives injury updates on N’Golo Kante and Mason Mount for Liverpool clash.

Chelsea will take on Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in what might promise to be an exciting encounter.

The Blues will be hoping for their third victory following a rampant display in Molineux last week – winning the game 5-2. Liverpool, on the other hand, are eyeing to extend their lead at the top of the pile to five points this week. A victory would only place them above Manchester City by five points in the Premier League table.

Liverpool, who are without Alisson Becker, succumbed to a 2-0 loss to Napoli in the Champions League. The hosts of the Sunday’s game also lost their home tie to Valencia, and they were unaccompanied by the midfielder N’Golo Kante.

The English International was clattered by the former Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin in a horrific fashion on Tuesday. It was first feared to be a frightful injury, but Frank Lampard gave an immediate assessment to stop the trepidation amongst the Chelsea fans. The midfielder has featured in five games, scoring three goals in the process.

At the other side, N’Golo Kante has managed to start only two games this season, including the heroic display against Liverpool during Super Cup loss in Istanbul last month. Additionally, his other start came when the Blues were held by Leicester City 1-1 in Stamford Bridge. Kante would walk into any side in the world and his fitness is crucial for Frank Lampard.

In the pre-match press conference, Frank Lampard did not completely rule out Mason Mount’s presence for the clash against Liverpool. While he stated Mount could feature in this game, the Chelsea boss was cautious about the inclusion of N’Golo Kante. He stated he’d wait until the Frenchman completely recovers from injury to not suffer any further repercussion. Attacker Callum Hudson-Odoi started for the Under-23 on Saturday night and will sit out for this clash.

As for Liverpool, Alisson Becker and Naby Keita are recovering from their injuries, but they can be ruled out from the Blues frame.
