Are Duan Jansen and Marco Jansen twin brothers?
The MI Cape Town have won the Toss and elected to bowl against the Paarl Royals in the SA20 opener, at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town.
The star-studded MI Cape Town side have taken the field with a pace attack comprising of Jofra Archer, Olly Stone, Sam Curran, and Duan Jansen.
After Archer scalped the first wicket of the tournament by getting rid of the Southpaw batter Wihan Lubbe (3 off 8), left-arm pacer Duan Jansen picked up the wicket of experienced English batter Jason Roy (13 off 14) off his very first Over of the tournament.
Fans were in a fix, when Duan Jansen was mistaken for Marco Jansen the moment the former’s face appeared on the screen, and he started bowling left-arm pace with more or less a similar sort of a bowling action like the latter.

There was a bit of more confusion when even the commentators referred to him at least on a couple of occasions as Marco Jansen.
Marco Jansen brother name
Bearing similar physical features in terms of appearance and even the bowling action, both Marco and Duan Jansen are in fact twins. Also, while both the brothers bowl using their left-arm, they bat right-handed as well.
Duan was picked by the MI Cape Town during the SA20 players auction last September, and was also roped in by the same franchise (Mumbai Indians) during the IPL mini auction which took place last month, at his base price of INR 20 Lakh.
On the other hand, brother Marco was retained by the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) ahead of IPL 2023, after impressing one and all during IPL 2022, when he was roped in by the franchise at INR 4.20 Crore during the mega auction. In the SA20, he is part of the Sunrisers Eastern Cape squad.
While Marco has already made his debut across formats for South Africa, brother Duan is yet to get an international call-up.
