Syed Mushtaq Ali 2021 schedule for quarter finals: Eight teams will take part in the knockout stage of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021.

After 38 teams locked horns in six groups (five elite and one plate) in the league phase of the ongoing 12th season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, eight out of them will now contest in the knockout stage which will begin from January 26 in Ahmedabad.

It is worth mentioning that Punjab (Elite Group A), Tamil Nadu (Elite Group B), Haryana (Elite Group E), Bihar (Plate Group), Rajasthan (Elite Group D), Baroda (Elite Group C), Himachal Pradesh (Elite Group C) and Karnataka (Elite Group A) have qualified for the quarter finals.

In addition to the six table toppers, Himachal Pradesh (0.94) and Karnataka (0.292) qualified as the seventh and eighth team on the basis of better Net Run Rate. The only Elite Group team to miss out on the knockout qualification despite four victories (16 points) is Madhya Pradesh (0.285).

The qualification criteria of this season was such that a total of three teams could have also qualified from one Elite Group provided they had a better NRR than all other second-ranked teams in Elite Groups.

January 26: Quarter Final 2, Tamil Nadu vs Himachal Pradesh in Ahmedabad at 07:00 PM (IST)

January 27: Quarter Final 3, Haryana vs Baroda in Ahmedabad at 12:00 PM (IST)

January 27: Quarter Final 4, Bihar vs Rajasthan in Ahmedabad at 07:00 PM (IST)

January 29: Semi Final 1, Winner of QF 3 vs Winner of QF 4 in Ahmedabad at 12:00 PM (IST)

January 29: Semi Final 2, Winner of QF 1 vs Winner of QF 2 in Ahmedabad at 07:00 PM (IST)

January 31: Final, Winner of SF 1 vs Winner of SF 2 in Ahmedabad at 07:00 PM (IST)

The knockout stage of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2021 will also inaugurate the renovated Sardar Patel Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad, for the first quarter final will also be the first competitive match to be played over there.
