Cristiano Ronaldo has never voted for Lionel Messi in the Ballon d'Or or The best awards

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has never received a vote from Lionel Messi in the Ballon d’Or or the best awards.

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi received the Best Men’s Player of the year award on Monday. The Argentine scored 54 goals in 58 games for this club and country to beat Virgil Van Dijk and Cristiano Ronaldo to this prestigious award.

It was a deserving award for the Barcelona Skipper, who scored 23 goals more than Cristiano Ronaldo last year. It was between himself and Virgil Van Dijk for this award and Lionel Messi got his hands on the trophy for the first time.

Following this gala, full voting list was revealed and it highlighted that Cristiano Ronaldo failed to vote for Lionel Messi once again. The Portuguese International rather voted for his teammate Matthijs De Ligt, former Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong, and Kylian Mbappe the final one in that list.

On the other hand, Lionel Messi, who lifted the Best award’s three votes went for Liverpool’s Sadio Mane as his first choice, Cristiano Ronaldo coming second, and his teammate Frenkie De Jong occupying the third spot.

However, none of Cristiano Ronaldo’s competitors have failed to feature in the top three; a sight which has been followed by a regular pattern over the last few years.

As you can see from the above graphic, Cristiano Ronaldo has never voted for Lionel Messi, a player where he has been sharing the podium for the last 12 years.
