Joao Felix goes past three Getafe players with ease before winning a penalty for Atletico
Joao Felix wins a penalty, but his exemplary work has been brought into the light.
Atletico Madrid’s new boy Joao Felix made his debut against Getafe in the opening weekend of the La Liga. The Los Rojiblancos record signing shone throughout the game, showing his trickery and breakneck pace to get past defenders with ease.
The Portuguese wonderkind, who inherited the jersey number 7 from Antoine Griezmann, looked in full-fledge when he collected the ball in his own half to go past three opponents and eventually win a penalty.
He displayed stupendous pace, skill, and balance to remain on feet and advance all the way into the box, where the final defender was not able to resist to foul him for a penalty. The spot-kick was eventually missed, but it was an extraordinary carry from the former Benfica forward.
Possibly the filthiest nutmeg you’ll see all season from @joaofelix70. 🤤#AtletiGetafe pic.twitter.com/xwOToQZuHr

Alvaro Morata missed the penalty, but the Spaniard added one through the new signing Kieran Trippier, who produced a peach through the right flank.
The 19-year-old limped off in the second half owing to an injury and Diego Simeone will be praying it’s not serious.
Hopefully it’s not too serious of an injury picked up by Joao Felix, who limped off in his La Liga debut 🤕 pic.twitter.com/rdevicWZ2g
