Coutinho

Now that Neymar is on the verge of completing his switch to PSG, Barcelona are desperate to land Liverpool’s talisman Philippe Coutinho.

It has been widely been reported that Coutinho has already agreed personal terms with Barcelona, and now it is only left for the two clubs to decide upon a fee.

Coutinho has been identified by the Barcelona brass as someone who could fill Iniesta’s huge shoes. The legendary Spanish play maker is on the decline, as his imperious career is slowly but surely coming to a close.

While Liverpool have maintained that they will not sell Coutinho, there is a sense within the club that a bid over 100 million might be enough to seal the deal.

But Barcelona are not yet willing to pay such fee. They have proposed two swap deals with Liverpool, but both have been rejected out of hand. Klopp does not want either of Rafinha or Andre Gomes as part of the swap deal for Coutinho.

This puts Barcelona in a fix as they realize that they will need to shell out the money or risk losing Coutinho this summer. With Neymar already out of the door, Barcelona will need to appease their supporters with a big summer signing.

Barcelona realize that replacing Neymar would be near impossible, especially in the current transfer market.

But Coutinho could be something similar.

While Countinho could play in Neymar’s position and become a high quality addition to the side, he will still need to play out of his skin to become as lethal as Barcelona’s current number 11.

Time will tell what happens this summer!
