Luis Suarez almost confirms Griezmann to Barcelona

The Atletico Madrid hitman, Antonie Greizmann continues to be heavily linked with a move to the Camp Nou, and those already at Camp Nou are very eager to get the France International on board.

Antonie Griezmann was identified as Manchester United and Barcelona’s number one transfer target back in summer. But despite the club’s effort to bring the player to Old Trafford or Camp Nou, the striker stayed in Madrid after Los Rojiblancos were handed a transfer ban by FIFA.

Back in summer, United signed Lukaku and in January they signed Alexis Sanchez, eventually reducing their interest in Griezmann a bit, which has handed the upper hand advantage to Barcelona, as the Catalan Giants look forward to bolstering of there squad for the upcoming competitions.

Even Diego Simeone recently said that the France International will be allowed to leave the club if the deal for the player benefits both the parties involved in it. Barcelona seems confident of bringing the player to Nou Camp, who will be available for £100m next summer, thanks to his release clause.

The Frenchmen has been in a phenomenal form this season, scoring and creating 22 goals for Los Rojiblancos as they set their eyes on the European honor. Atletico Madrid recently reached the finals of Europa League after Diego Costa’s winner denied Arsenal’s Arsène Wenger European final farewell.

While speaking to Radio Rincon, Suarez said the Atletico Madrid forward will be welcomed once he would be making the move to Camp Nou.

“It makes the club proud to bring players of this quality like Antoine, like [Ousmane] Dembele and [Philippe] Coutinho. He’s a player who brings a huge amount, he has a lot of years playing at the highest level, always fighting. He rules up front for Atletico and that is fundamental.” Suarez said.

Suarez cleared all the rumors suggesting that Griezmann will arrive in order to replace Neymar who left for Paris Saint-Germain last year in August.

“He is not coming to take the place of anyone, but with the ambition of winning important things. He will be welcomed.” he added

With so many talks surrounding the player at the Camp Nou, it looks like the deal is on. I feel the player will be doing a right thing by committing his future with Barcelona. His arrival at Barcelona will give Ernesto Valverde a greater range of options in attack. Griezmann will give Valverde a variety of options to utilize him correctly.
