Bayern Munich’s president Uli Hoeness has revealed interesting details about Pep Guardiola’s expensive transfer dealings at Manchester City.

Bayern Munich’s president, Uli Hoeness has revealed some interesting details on how Pep Guardiola deals with the Manchester City hierarchy for expensive transfers.

Guardiola managed Bayern Munich before joining Manchester City in 2016. In his three years at Bayern Munich, the Spaniard lifted the Bundesliga in all the three seasons, but failed to lead the side to Champions League glory.

At Manchester City, the former Barcelona manager created a Premier League record for most points in a single season in 2017/18. This season, the side is in the race for another league title, and are one of the strongest contenders for the FA Cup and the Champions League.

City has already lifted the Carabao Cup earlier this year, beating Chelsea on penalties in the final.

Uli Hoeness on Guardiola:

Hoeness talked about the Manchester City boss during a financial conference, where he stated the process behind Guardiola procuring multi-million deals.

“My friend Pep told me what happens when he wants a player that costs more than €100 million,” Hoeness began.

“He puts some videos together of the player and goes to see the Sheikh.

“Once he is there, there is an opulent feast put on during which he teaches the videos to him and the money is transferred.”

He funnily added that the Sheikh raises the price of oil to recover the money. “The next day, the Sheikh rises the price of oil a little bit and recovers the money,” Hoeness said.

Pep Guardiola’s expenditure throughout his football career crossed 1bn pounds mark, with almost half the money being spent during his time at Manchester City.

The current season is his third with the Premier League side.
