Snubbing Allen Iverson, Heat Legend’s Comparison Of Dwyane Wade and Michael Jordan Brings Forth A Controversial Take
Michael Jordan has been looked at as the greatest basketball player of all time regardless of which position he played. And obviously, if you think of the best shooting guards to ever play the game, he’ll be the automatic 1st choice for most. Kobe Bryant would get the second-highest majority, and Allen Iverson might get the 3rd spot. But where would you put Dwyane Wade?
According to a Miami Heat legend, who himself was one of one, Wade is the 3rd best shooting guard to ever play the game behind Mike and Kobe.
White Chocolate has Dwyane Wade as the 3rd best shooting guard
In a recent episode of All the Smoke, Matt Barnes asked Jason Williams, the basketball magician, about his former teammate D-Wade.
White Chocolate did not hold back and declared him the 3rd best ever to play the shooting guard position, over Allen Iverson.
“I don’t even know where to start bro. I think he’s like just 3rd best two-guard ever,” said Williams, which is when Barnes confirmed, “So, MJ, Kobe, D-Wade?”. Williams simply said “Yeah” making sure of the fact that AI was not a two-guard in his books.
How good was D-Wade?
The Flash, as his peers call him, was a 6ft 4’ shooting guard who came into the league as the 5th pick from that famous draft class of 2003 that also gave NBA, LeBron James (1st), Carmelo Anthony (3rd), and Chris Bosh (4th).
But before all those superstar picks of his class, he was the one to win the NBA championship at the earliest. People remember that he had 3x Finals MVP, Shaquille O’Neal, by his side when he did it. However, the team was built around Wade and he was their best player throughout the season and in the Finals. Nobody could stop a prime Dwyane Wade.
One of the best two-way guards ever, D-Wade played 16 years in the NBA, winning 3 championships, making 13x All-Star, 8 All-NBA, and 3 All-Defensive appearances.
