“We’ve had a lot of discussions on that. I wanted to play, I was feeling well but the club was afraid, and in the end, I’m the one suffering.” he further said.

Neymar has been marred with injuries this season, earlier a hamstring injury in October also kept him out of six matches. The Brazilian’s return to full fitness is however timely as PSG look to avoid another round of 16 exit in the Champions League.

One of the reasons PSG got eliminated from the last two seasons in the round of 16 was majorly because of the absence of Neymar from these two ties in previous seasons.

The fact was admitted by Neymar in the interview, “I understand the fear that the club was suffering from because in the last two years I was not able to play in the round of 16. I respect the decision, but it cannot be like this, because the player ends up suffering.”
